Mature Companion Club
Last Summer we decided to hold a holiday club for the over 50's. There were various activities and sports available: Table Tennis, Snooker, Short Mat Bowld, Boardgames, Computer Skills, Art & Craft. We also provided a FREE LUNCH! It was so successful we now hold it on the third Wednesday in the month, 12 - 3.30pm in the church hall. Free Lunch & Refreshments for all over 50's. |

MEN'S SAILING TRIP 14th-16th JUNE
Although it was with fear & trepidation I organised this trip, due to my past exepiences of Sea Sickness, it was a tremendous success. Although poorly attended those who did go experienced 3 great days of Sailing on a luxury 44ft Sailing Yacht. Thank to Derek Harkness who heads up 'Sail & See Ministries'I thoroughly recommend him & his team for their professionalism and patience as they safely taught us the joys of sailing. |
|
NEVER TOO OLD!
Hey you are never too old to learn, or go on 'Just Men' activities! At 75 years Roy is still young at heart and more than able to learn new skills as shown here at the helm sailing close to the wind! |
|
Although Peter had previously sailed small yachts he soon got to grips with our ocean going boat and enjoyed every minute! |
|
'TOUGH TALK' MEN'S NIGHT 17th MAY 2006
A joint venture with Churches Together in Barking during the Bishop's Mission Week. Although there was a poor turn out from our 'Just Men' group, those who went had a great time. 'Tough Talk' are a group of Men from tough, often violent backgrounds, whose lives have been transformed by Jesus. They not only give Power Lifting Displays, but powerful testimony to the POWER of God! |
|
Martin, an ex Bouncer and Drug Addict performs his amazing lift, assisted by Ian |
|
Ian presenting his testimony in a humourous but challenging way. Jesus transformed him from a gun carrying thug and drug addict to a New Creation in Christ. Now with a heart to both give and accept love of other people. He has a truly remarkable testimony to the POWER OF GOD |
|
SORTING OUT THE MEN FROM THE BOYS!
A chance for audience participation!
A quote from one of our men who attended "The men’s evening at St Margaret’s hall in Barking on Wednesday 17th May was a great success. The food was excellent and went down very well. Although 12 in total, just two, Ian and Martin were here for the evening. Martin gave a very impressive display of power lifting and Ian gave his testimony. Ian was body builder who worked as a nightclub doorman, his day job was as a debt collector.
His story of how he came to Christ was fascinating, he described himself as a former “God hater” who inhabited a very dark world of violence, then one night the A406 became his “road to Damascus”, amazing to hear.
Tough Talk’s work is voluntary and they visit, among other venues, prisons in this country and abroad. I strongly recommend seeing them if you get the chance".

BOWLING CHALLENGE VERSES WOOD LANE BAPTIST CHURCH 21st MARCH 2006
Although some of the team from both sides had left after a hard fought contest, we remain good friends! |
|
THE WINNER
Once again Justin Monk takes both the 'Just Men' trophy and highest score trophy. Paul the vicar tried hard but just couldn't match him. However as shown below, to keep his spirits up I awarded him the team trophy! Thanks Wood Lane Baptist Church for the challenge, maybe you would like to try again sometime! |

This seems to have become an annual event at St. Chad's, with more attending each year. It's an amazing day out. Not only to get the chance to view planes old & new up close but also to experience the atmosphere of the music as the air display takes place. The highlight of the year for many! |

DUXFORD AIR DISPLAY & PROMS
The Spitefire along with it's sister plane the Hurricane won The Battle of Britian for us and changed the course of the war. To see it in flight often brings out such emotions for many. How greatful we are for the brave young men who flew them, often paying the ultimate price! |

The theme of this years Summer Fete was Caribbean and amongst many other stalls this was my favourite. Where else could you get an amazing eat as musch as you like Carabbean food for £2? |

A great day for all
Once again we decided that the main purpose of the day was to have fun & bless people, especially those in the local community. Many of the activities were free including hot dogs & cream teas! |
